WWE Superstars made its debut on April 16, 2009. It is a hour-long show featuring matches from RAW and Smackdown (ECW was featured from 2009 to its demise back in February) and was similar to WWE Sunday Night Heat and WWE Velocity.
However, WWE Superstars was criticized by many WWE fans as a wrestling show that lacked star power. Occasionally, mid-card superstars like Chris Jericho, Evan Bourne, The Great Khali, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Santino Marella, Ted DiBiase, Tyson Kidd, Vladimir Kozlov, Christian, Drew McIntyre, Ezekiel Jackson, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston would have a match on the show as well as an occasional Divas match.
