With the release of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's DVD on the verge of hitting shelves, I started thinking about the state of wrestling managers.
There was a time when wrestlers with great ring talent and zero mic skills would find themselves paired up with a mouthpiece aka manager.
Guys like Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, Bobby Heenan, Slick and Paul Heyman were responsible for building up wrestlers in ways they couldn't.
They also were responsible for making sure their talents got a "fair shake". By being involved with on-air contract signings, he would be the first to complain about the company trying to screw his wrestler.
