World Wrestling Entertainment's new show "NXT" is experimenting with new camera angles. Instead of transitioning between a basic wide angle shot encompassing the ring, and various shots from the cameramen outside of the ring, NXT is using close-ups that focus in on the wrestlers.
The point of these shots is probably to give the show an "Indy" feel by making the viewer forget that the arena is surrounded by 15,000 people. Since NXT is supposedly a reality show, the WWE is trying to differentiate it stylistically from Raw and Smackdown.
I have looked at the reviews from various forums on the Internet. Reactions are mixed. Some people enjoy the new look, others hate it.
