WWE Survivor Series 2009: The Many Roads The World Title Match Can Take
On October - 30 - 2009
Survivor Series 2009...the PPV is approaching and fast. As of right now, the event has only two matches on the card, both of them heavyweight title matches.
On the Raw side of things, we have a triple-threat match featuring John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. On the Smackdown side, we have a triple-threat match featuring The Undertaker, Big Show, and Chris Jericho. These two matches have something in common besides both being for world titles and both being triple threats.
Both contain a tag team.
Let us first look at the RAW side...
John Cena is the champion going into the event. He has ...
Breaking News: Major Update On Jeff Hardy Drug Trafficking Issue
On October - 30 - 2009
As I reported here on Bleacherreport.com yesterday, Breaking Rumor: Jeff Hardy Could Be Found Innocent of Drug Trafficking Charges, there was a rumor floating around about Jeff Hardy's drug trafficking charges being bogus. Some people were a bit confused on what I reported regarding drug trafficking and wanted more confirmation.
People should first off keep in mind that Matt Hardy and Hurricane Helms tweeted my last article out, meaning they see some truth into what was said in the article.
If you are caught drug trafficking, you are sent to jail, you do not pass go and do not collect 200 dollars. ...
Despite Best Efforts, WWE’s Tag Division Remains on Life Support
On October - 29 - 2009
WARNING: This article contains a spoiler regarding this week's Smackdown tapings.
Earlier this week, I discussed my displeasure with the WWE’s ill-advised decision to book Big Show against the Undertaker at Survivor Series.
According to spoiler reports I’ve read—NOTE: this is your official spoiler warning —this week on Smackdown, Chris Jericho will be inserted into the World Heavyweight Championship match.
I’ve got no problem with the decision to add Jericho to any main event, especially one that projected to be as boring as Undertaker versus Big Show. This does, however, continue to push the Unified Tag Team Titles to the backburner.
This will be ...
TNA and WWE Will Push Their Young Stars; Wrestling Fans Need to Be Patient
On October - 29 - 2009
So, TNA and WWE are finally putting some focus on their younger talent. I love it. And apparently, the rest of the Internet Wrestling Community does, too. The exception being that they are being a bit too impatient.
As my grandmother always extolled to us, “Haste makes waste.”
Two pay-per-views ago, TNA gave us the chance to witness AJ Styles win his first TNA World Championship. Fast forward to the Bound for Glory event and it seemed the youth movement was in full effect.
Matt Morgan and Kurt Angle put on a good outing, the British Invasion left with the TNA tag titles, ...
ECW’s Crucifixion Angle: Raven and The Sandman
On October - 29 - 2009
On Jan. 27, 1996, Raven began a new feud with The Sandman after he defeated him and won the ECW Heavyweight Title. And the two would subsequently trade the title back and forth throughout the years.
During the feud, Raven allied himself to the returned Lori Fullington and brainwashed her and The Sandman's real-life son Tyler into joining his cult-like following, turning him against his father. Raven psychologically attacked The Sandman by having his son deny his relationship with his father, telling Tyler that his parents' divorce was The Sandman's fault, and making him perform Raven's trademark taunt and other mannerisms.
These ...
Time For Raw’s “Guest Host” to Take a Bow and Leave
On October - 29 - 2009
It was pretty cool for a while. Ex-wrestlers would be guest hosts on Monday Night Raw, it was a nice little hook considering some were the fathers of key wrestlers.
But then, Seth Green had to be saved by Triple H, Freddie Prinze Jr. was attacked by Randy Orton, and Shaq was the "outside enforcer" in a match involving the tag team of Big Show and Chris Jericho.
I guess that's all fine and okay.
Unfortunately, we also had to watch Bob Barker do a mockery of the Price is Right on Raw, Al Sharpton talk about Education Reform, and Ben Roethlisberger and his ...
Breaking Rumor: Jeff Hardy Could Be Found Innocent of Drug Trafficking Charges
On October - 29 - 2009
First off, I want everyone to know before you read this that a lot of this is only a rumor as of now. So while it could be proven as fact later on, nothing is confirmed as of yet.
People should keep in mind that there is some truth in every rumor. While not everything rumored will come to pass every time, something rumored can be the truth, and that should not be overlooked.
Now to Jeff Hardy.
As most of us know by now, Jeff Hardy was arrested early September on drug charges. But the big charge that people focused on was ...
HTR History: Les Thatcher and TNA’s Desmond Wolfe
On October - 29 - 2009
(This is a reprint of Demetreus Stokes's article from HTR)
If you missed tonight’s episode of Hit The Ropes Radio, you missed a treat. We had the pleasure of interviewing Les Thatcher.
When people in our generation think of the word legend, they think of Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, and Ric Flair, among others.
While Les Thatcher may not be a name that most people in this generation know, he is truly a wrestling legend.
Thatcher has had a hand in training some of the biggest stars in WWE, WCW, and TNA.
Les started in the business in 1960 as a wrestler. In a career ...
TNA Report: Hogan-Bischoff Sign, Ric Flair Rumors and a New WCW?
On October - 29 - 2009
Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls-of-Fire, What a Week!!!!
Well we Wrestling fans have plenty to discuss and argue over this week. To coin a phrase "What's Causin' all this?" To answer is simply Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling. Dixie Carter has signed Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan earlier this week and rumors are flying in from all sides. Let me elaborate:
Ric Flair:
It has been "rumored" That Wrestling's Greatest Champion Ric Flair is on the verge of signing a deal with TNA.
First of all Ric Flair, as everyone knows has been in the news a lot lately, and it seems that everyone is pulling ...
What Will TNA’s Big Announcements Be?
On October - 28 - 2009
With Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff joining TNA, and the promise of more developments of a supposedly equal standing to come, it poses the question: how big is TNA aiming?
As a long time WWE fan, I have very little interest in TNA. I occasionally watch individual matches as I am a big fan of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle, but I have never watched an entire TNA show or PPV.
I pay attention to the major ongoings in TNA, but I have no desire to follow it the way I follow WWE.
By acquiring Hogan and Bischoff, two personalities guaranteed ...
